The Barton County Arts Council's mission statement calls for support of “every artistic discipline”. This includes poetry.

The “Back Room” of the Barton Arts Center is available for poets in the area to come share their works with other poets and other interested citizens.

The first such “Poetry Circle” was held on May 9, 2001. The group plans to meet monthly on the first Wednesday of each month. Check the “Back Room” schedule to confirm the event before coming.

There is room on our web site for the publication of works by local poets. These should be submitted (in electronic form if at all possible) to the webmaster@bartonarts.org. These will be reviewed for suitability by the Board before publication on our site.
