James McDaniel plays the role of Lt. Arthur Fancy on NYPD Blue.
Has played roles in numerous big screen movies, including "Malcolm X,"
"Rocket Gibralter," and "Strictly Business."
His television credits include "L.A. Law," "Kate and Allie," and "Civil Wars."
He was born and raised in Washington, D.C. His wife, Hannelore, and their two
sons, Dorian and Evan, live in LA.
His birthday is March 25, 1958. (Micheaux died on March 25, 1951). James will be celebrating his 43rd birthday on the 50th anniversary of Micheaux's death.
James is working on a possible HBO movie about Micheaux. If the project is
accepted, James is not sure whether he will direct the movie, or play the role of
Oscar Micheaux.
