While The Crest was the scholarly venue and the Barton Arts Center was the entertainment venue, festival organizers seized the opportunity to use a vacant storefront, located midway between the other two, as a commercial and social venue. Here festivalgoers could shop for Micheaux books or have a cappucino, they could get answers from the information table or pick up brochures from the Convention & Visitors' Bureau display, or they could simply find a place to visit in a more quiet setting.
